What’s Happening at WBCRI?

Majorie Brand

We are thrilled to announce that Marjorie Brand, Ph.D. has joined WBCRI and the Department of Cell and Regenerative Biology as a tenured Professor in the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Medicine and Public Health. Previously, Dr. Brand was a Professor at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute in Ottawa, Canada and Department of Medicine, University of Ottawa. Dr. Brand’s research program utilizes multidisciplinary approaches to understand how hematopoietic stem cells differentiate into blood cells and how the deregulation of this process leads to leukemia. Her interests include the fundamental mechanisms by which transcription and chromatin control cell fate decisions. Her group uses a broad spectrum of approaches, including multiomics, in vivo models (leukemia mouse models, human leukemic cell xenotransplantation in immunodeficient mice), and single-cell technologies.
