Environmental influences on human cell biology with relevance to blood cancers and immunology.
The overarching hypothesis of our laboratory is that existing model systems have either masked or precluded critical insights into basic human cell physiology and drug development. To broadly test this, we apply a multidisciplinary approach that combines principles of biology and engineering with methods in molecular biology and biochemistry, and with technologies in metabolomics and gene editing, among others. Within this framework, we also develop novel tools and apply innovative concepts to explore questions across areas of cancer metabolism, functional genomics, chemical genetics, and immunobiology.
